Please share your feedback, comments, and theories below after watching Episode 05 of Westworld, “Contrapasso” – airing on Sunday October 30. We’ll make sure to discuss your thoughts in the podcast!
Dolores, William and Logan reach Pariah, a town built on decadence and transgression — and are recruited for a dangerous mission. The Man in Black meets an unlikely ally in his search to unlock the maze.
Alright, so yeah, I am not sure what to think anymore. I just finished watching the show and I have no idea what is real, what is part of the new storyline and what is some kind of glitch. So I guess that is good writing? Or maybe it is sloppy writing? Only time will tell.
I do have a couple of questions or observations that I would love to hear your comments on. The first question is why would the hosts have violent sexual desires? What I really mean is why would a host drag Dolores into a barn to rape and murder her alone? That seems like a bad idea on many levels. Manly the cost to repair an otherwise undamaged host, Dolores for no real reason. I thought they would enter the barn, shut down for a few minutes then their story line would have continued after an appropriate amount of time. It seems like a complete waste of money and time.
My second question is: I wonder how many people, newcomers, are in the park? Even if they are paying 40K a day there is no way that covers the cost of repairing each and every host every single night. I wonder if each of the hundreds of scenarios and storylines are active regardless of human interaction.
What happened to the lady, newcomer, who was around when Teddy was hacked to pieces? Is she alive or dead? Was she even important to the story arc of the show as a whole?
My next comment is that the Man in Black is Logan’s father, both men talked about saving the park, the age difference is about right and it would explain why Logan is a jack-ass all of the time. He grew up watching his father at the park.
My final comment is do you think this show will go on for more then one season? It seems like the park will have a host revolution, kill guests and staff then either win or more likely be put down. That seems like a complete story arc to me. It would be pointless if the same basic story was repeated every season.
My final, final comment is I love your podcast. Keep up the good work.
Okay truly my final comment, I know they are robots but must everyone be naked all of the time? Everyone except the older model in the basement who sleeps in a body bag and has clothes. Weird or Significant I have no idea.
I meant mainly not manly
